Following is information specific to Washington DC. If you are not familiar with DC, these resources may be helpful.

Meeting Spots
Thinking of meeting someone for a skate? These spots are areas that local WAR members usually pick for skating or meeting other skaters. Following are maps, directions and descriptions of meeting spots.
The White House
Most of our events meet here due to a central location, easy parking, Metro access, a wide traffic-free roadway, and a friendly skater crowd.

Rock Creek Park
A scenic park through the best forest inside the beltway, most of it is closed to traffic on weekends and makes for an enjoyable skate with few cars.

Red Caboose
Along the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) in Vienna Virginia. The trail is better for distance skating farther from the city because there are less cross-streets.

Skating Spots
Following are areas suggested by members for outdoor skating. Use common sense as conditions may change the "skateability" of an area.
East Potomac Park
A fresh new coat of pavement brings a lovely 3.2-mile loop of Ohio Drive back to skaters. Scenery, river views and a central location make this a recommended spot for weekend sunshine and fitness.

Baltimore
With new urban renewal and skating trails in the works, there are several good places to skate.

The Western Maryland Rail Trail
Twenty-one miles of paved trail and almost totally flat. The trail is shaded which is good in the summer but also means more than a little debris.
