George,
haha you know when I got the skates I didn't think we would be getting as much snow as we did! but I got lucky to find an empty parking garage close to home with shelter from wind, rain ....snow! but some days was sooo cold I think I spend more time wiping my nose than skating :)
The WAR skates sounds great!! I'll check your calendar for the beginners skate, hope to be able to make it. I usually work late and about an 45 - 1 hour from DC that makes it a bit complicated, but'll I try!! I would love to skate with a group. Thanks!
Nadia

Whatever you decide to do about the workshop or other lessons, I suspect you're more than ready to try some of the WAR skates if you think that would interest you. For example, this Sunday's Intermediate Skate, which leaves 11 AM from the White House and covers around 11 miles in 2 hours. I can pretty much guarantee that you won't learn anything about skating (the skate has been assiduously put together to ensure that absolutely no learning takes place), but you might have fun skating in a group with others. We will be starting up again the Friday Night Beginner's Skate very shortly (maybe as soon as next Friday), which is our social skate. The Wednesday Night and Sunday Advanced skates are more challenging, but you might enjoy those as well. All these weekly skates are listed on the calendar at our website. I can't claim any of these
> skates is great training (except maybe the Sunday Advanced), but they can be fun. And more skating is never a bad thing. Give it a try if you'd like.
