So was there an Elfstedentocht* in 2010 or not?
The suspense is killing me. Inquiring minds want to know, but they can't read Dutch. Things were looking promising for a while.
There hasn't been one since 1997 as I understand it.
And I'm not even sure one can count the one in 1997 because skaters had to go over land for 50 meters due to bad ice conditions in the appropriately named village of Sneek (http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/netherlands/091204/elfstedentocht-climate-change-ice-skating).
Guess we have to go to the lecture to find out...
