[SkateDC] Indian Head Rail Trail Skate on Saturday (3/27/10)

The Indian Head Rail Trail Skate is scheduled for Saturday (3/27/10) at 11 AM.

This supersedes any previous announcement (there have been some changes).

The skate leaves 11 AM from the White Plains end of the Indian Head Rail Trail.  This is the easternmost end of the trail.

We will start skating at 11 AM.  Skate up to 28 miles.  The trail is mile-marked so you can turn around whenever you want to and therefore choose to skate a lesser distance.  The skate will take around 3 hours to complete.

Some have expressed an interest in going to a crab house on Pope's Creek after the skate.  It's a 22 minute drive from White Plains:

For those wishing to carpool, the Oxon Hill Fringe Parking Lot is on the way, right off of the beltway at Indian Head Hwy.  There's no charge for parking there.

It's about a 40 minute drive to the White Plains trail parking, so we should leave Oxon Hill by 10:15 AM.
