[SkateDC] Announcing Thai New Year's Festival 4/11/10 [Off Topic]

Traditional Thai New Year's Day (Songkran) will be celebrated on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Wat Thai DC in Silver Spring, MD.  


One of the best ethnic food festivals in the area.  Free parking at Glenmont Metro parking lot with free shuttle buses to and from Wat Thai DC between 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.  Come experience a little slice of Thailand in Maryland.  Food is available throughout the day.  Thai dance and music shows start at 1:30 pm.  The offering of food to the monks occurs at 10:30 am. Expect large crowds, especially if the weather is nice.  It is well attended even when the weather is bad.  Also this is the first year I can remember when they managed to get an announcement out in English before the event ;-)
