[SkateDC] 2010 WAR Annual Meeting Report

The 2010 WAR annual meeting was held on Friday, February 26, 2010, at 7:30 PM at Capitol City Brew Pub.  

There were ten attendees.  The meeting was conducted by President Ford.

A new Board of Directors was elected for 2010:

President:  Carl Ford
Treasurer:  Susan Burgerman
Skate Coordinator:  George Marinkovich

(Yup, that's the same lineup as last year.  But next year there are bound to be some new faces.  Also in 2011:  the Great Pumpkin will appear before Linus, and Lucy will let Charlie Brown kick the football.)

The Inaugural Skate for the 2010 skating season will be Sunday (4/18/10) leaving from the White House at 11 AM.  By tradition it is led by President Ford.  It will be a combined skate (intermediate and advanced).  It is usually a gentle skate, all are encouraged to participate.  It will be followed by food and drink at the Capitol City Brew Pub (11th and H St., NW).

Skate DC Weekend will be May 21/22/23, 2010.  It will be quite similar to last year.  Details available at:  http://www.skatedcweekend.info

T-Shirts:  Yellow is the new black.  We will likely use the same brand of t-shirt as last year (Brooks).  Jeannie has graciously agreed to develop some designs.  Feel free to post any ideas you may have regarding the t-shirt to the skate list.  More to follow once the preliminary designs are ready.

Finally, it was unamimously decided that there will be no snow next winter.
