Before we get to the plug for next Monday's SotG movie, there's an "online trivia contest" being held here:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dDZLMGpJNTlBWktLckpCRjdiZDNMMEE6MQ&theme=0AX42CRMsmRFbUy0xMTQxMTU1Yy04OGY5LTRkY2EtYTFjMC02YmNkMmI2OWNhZTQ&ifq

Not that many people will enter this contest, so you stand a pretty good chance of winning something from among the following (assuming you get all 5 questions correct):

* 4 tickets to the National Symphony Orchestra's tribute to James Bond
movie music at Wolf Trap (http://www.wolftrap.org)

* 2 tickets to “Sabrina Fair” at Ford’s Theater
(http://www.fordstheatre.org/)

* 2 tickets to “All’s Well That Ends Well” starring Marsha Mason (“The
Goodbye Girl” as the Countess of Rossillion) at the Shakespeare Theater
Company's Lansburgh Theatre
(http://www.shakespearetheatre.org/index2.aspx)

* 2 5-packs of tickets to the DC Shorts Film Festival
(http://www.dcshorts.com/)

The contest is
open until Sunday and they'll announce the winners on Monday, before the
screening.
Read no further if you want don't want to see the answers.

Now then, since an "online trivia contest" is no more than an exercise of your Google skills (and unworthy of a true trivia maven), to save you the time and effort... the envelope with the answers please...

For playing “Elliot Garfield,” Richard
Dreyfuss was the youngest actor to win this award.

holder for being the youngest winner of this award is whom?

Marsha Mason, who plays Paula McFadden
in “The Goodbye Girl” will be playing this character in the Shakespeare
Theater Company’s production of “All’s Well That Ends Well.”

 - Countess of Rossillion

Who said, and in what act and scene, "A
horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!"

Write In This Format -
"Character, Act X, Scene Y" - Richard III, Act 5, Scene 4

Neil Simon, writer of the original
screenplay for “The Goodbye Girl,” was honored by this institution in
1995 for his contribution to the arts and to popular culture in the 20th
century. Bill Clinton presented the award.

 - Kennedy Center

Richard Dreyfuss, one of the stars of
"The Goodbye Girl," starred in another recent "Screen on the Green"
film. Which one was it?

Remember,
www.savescreenonthegreen.org has almost every SOTG movie listed! - Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Good luck ;-)

Stay tuned next week where you may win one of 12 pies for 12 Angry
Men, generously donated by Dangerously Delicious Pies
(http://www.dangerouspies.com/)

And now back to our regularly scheduled commercial...

Monday, July 19 - THE GOODBYE GIRL. Richard Dreyfuss won an Oscar(r) for his
endearing turn as Elliot, a struggling New York actor who finds himself
saddled with
two unwanted roommates. (1977) 110 Min. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076095/)

Once
again I will be staking out space with blue and gray tarps as close to
front and center (with respect to the screen) as possible when I arrive
sometime before 7 pm.  I will try to set up here:  http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3867485
center of the screen as close to the gravel sidewalk in front of the
screen as possible.  I will be wearing blaze orange.  I hope to have my
mobile with me (in which case my number is iii-0-i iii-vi-vii viii-iii-vii-iv).  The film should start sometime after sunset (8:30 pm).

Let
me know if you're coming (and how many you are) so I can reserve the
proper amount of space.  It's too early to even speculate about the weather ;-)

The location is the National Mall west
of 4th Street, between Madison and Jefferson Drives.

Closest Metro stations are
Archives/Navy Memorial, Smithsonian and
L'Enfant Plaza.

Parking:
I'm recommending parking at L'Enfant Promenade where free on-street
parking opens up at 6:30 pm.  You can probably get closer (it's at least
a 6 block walk) but there should be spaces available there and I hate
driving around looking for parking.

Cheers,
George
