Wednesday Night (7/14/10) Advanced Skate, leaves 7 PM from the White House, led by Jackeline Soto.

Friday Night (7/16/10) Beginner's Skate, leaves 7 PM from the White House, led by Shawn Brown.

Saturday (7/17/10) Skate Across Maryland (twice) Skate, leaves at 11 AM from Hancock, MD, led by George Marinkovich.
We start in Hancock, Maryland, skate over to West Virginia, skate back into Maryland, up into Pennsylvania, and then back (down, yeah!) into Maryland.  When we finish we will have traversed the State of Maryland twice, which visiting another sate (West Virginia) and a commonwealth (Pennsylvania).  It's a long way to Hancock, MD, to just skate across Maryland twice, so for those looking for additional skating (or perhaps instead of the SAM) my recommendation is to skate the scenic western half of the WMRT (or as much of it as you want).  Contact me about carpooling options.  Directions to start location, Western Maryland Rail Trail Parking Lot on East Main Street (Rt. 144) slightly west and across the street from Center Street, Hancock, MD:  http://tinyurl.com/WMRT-parking-lot

Saturday Noon (7/17/10) Rock Creek Park Clinic, from 12 noon to 1:30 PM at Rock Creek Park, led by Danny Donoghue.  Please see the "Free Lessons" link at www.skatedc.org for more details.  Please confirm with Danny before showing up, see the calendar at www.skatedc.org for contact information.

Sunday (7/18/10) Intermediate Skate, leaves 9 AM from the White House, led by Bill English.

Sunday (7/18/10) Advanced Skate, leaves 11 AM from the White House, led by Jackeline Soto.

This information and additional details are available on the www.skatedc.org calendar and also at http://www.meetup.com/Washington-Area-Roadskaters/  Weather-related updates are available by following skatewash at twitter.com

WAR skates are held if no precipitation is occurring and the road surface is dry or drying.  However, the final decision as to whether a skate will be held rests solely on the best judgment of the skate leader.

Happy skating,
George
