I saw your message on the WAR listserve.  Just wanted to let you know  that 
there are several Certified Inline skating instructors in the DC area who  
can help get you ready for street skates with WAR.
 
If you are closer to Virginia, Skaters Quest has a great group of  
instructors. I don't know if they are available during the winter, but you could

and get contact  information.
 
I'm in MD and do teach during the winter (Outdoor) as long as it's not too  
freezing out.  I've been teaching in the DC area for a long time. You can
