I stole this from dcist.com, but what the hell...

 

We had SNOGASM in December and SNOMAGEDDON last weekend.  If today's snowfall tops 12", it should be called ALEXANDER SNOVECHKIN:  THE HAT TRICK!

 

I read the other day that Friday/Saturday's storm was only the 13th time that DC has had a snowfall of 12 or more inches.  If memory serves me correctly, I've been here for seven of them:  Presidents Day weekend 1979, January 1983 (Marion Barry fiddles at the Super Bowl oblivious to all hell breaking loose in DC), Super Bowl weekend 1987 (another double shot of snow), January 1996, Presidents Day weekend 2003, 12/19/09, and this past weekend.  I lived in Hoboken, NJ during the March 1993 blizzard.
