Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping at your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos,
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright,
Sugarloaf, with its slopes fresh with snow.
Will be a fun hike Sunday. Right?
Actually chestnuts are pretty awful (roasted on an open fire or not), but the same is definitely not true about hiking up Sugarloaf Mountain in the snow. Sugarloaf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugarloaf_Mountain_(Maryland)) is especially lovely in the snow.
As you probably know a big snowstorm is scheduled to come through our area this weekend, but it's possible most of the roads will be plowed by Sunday noon.
Anyone interested in hiking up Sugarloaf Mountain on Sunday afternoon? Say around one o'clock? That should give us plenty of time to get up the monadnock and back down the before sunset.
Cheers,
George
