The Sunday Intermediate Skate will leave the White House today at 11 AM.

The streets are wet now but there will be a window of good weather from around now to 2 PM, at least according to the forecasts:

Radar:

(Just click on Future, wish I could do that with the stock market)

Traffic Camera at 17th and E Streets NW:

That's enough to convince me we will have a dry skate.

Hopefully that's enough to convince you too.  If not, I appeal to Edith Piaf:

"No, nothing at all

No, I don't regret anything at all

Not the good that was given me

Nor the evil. They're all the same..."

You know with that attitude, if she were still here, she'd be out skating today (probably puffing on a cigarette and carrying who knows what in her camelbak).  No regrets!

But I should mention the World Bank, IMF meetings are going on today and there will be street closures and parking restrictions around those two buildings on Pennsylvania Avenue west of the White House.  People used to parking in that area will want to park elsewhere, say closer to Froggy Bottom Pub.  Also, it's possible there may be closures at the White House and Lafayette Park, so to reiterate:  If our usual meeting place is closed, try Lafayette Park, if that's closed try the northern border of the park on H St., if that's closed try the Ellipse (near concession building), and finally if all else fails go to the Navy Memorial on Pennsylvania at 7th and 9th.

Cheers,
George
