I have a couple of skates from Amazon posted on my website that might work  
for you friend.  Go to SkateU.com click on the SKATES tab and then the  
link for NEW SKATES.  These are some mid level skates mostly that I  recommend 
as a good starting point for my Beginner-Intermediate students to  check out.
