[SkateDC] Skated anyway at cancelled BWI Airport Meetup

You were right, even though the rain was minimal there were a few slippery spots in the forest and all the boardwalks were slippery. But most of the trail was in good shape. In a few spots there were wet leaves covering the trail already.

I waited until 2:15 but no other skaters showed up. I did not see another skater all day, and only about 8 bicycles.

I tried to do the whole loop without taking any bench breaks. I did that, only stopping a couple of times at traffic lights and when I was trying to decide which way to go when the trail forked.

I finished at 3:22, for an elapsed time of one hour, seven minutes. That is an average speed of 13.17 miles per hour for the 14.5 mile loop. I am surprised my speed was that good, since I was being very careful not to fall and was not trying to hurry much anyway. Still got passed by bicycles a few times to keep me humble.

I managed to do the whole loop without making any wrong turns. Had to think hard about which way to go a few times, so I was lucky all my guesses were correct. The signs along the trail are not very good.

Let me know if you can beat my time around the loop.

I have had a sore right foot for a few weeks. Today I bought a McDavid Light Weight Ankle Brace (199R) to see if it would help. I tried skating with it today and it caused no problems at all and made my foot more comfortable. I am very happy I bought this brace. Got it at Modell's.

Be careful - that trail gets slick at the slightest dampness...
