[SkateDC] Report about the last official Friday Night Skate of 2009

I just got home from skating at the last official Friday Night Skate of 2009. Only four of us skated- Allison Bailey, Shawn Brown, Mike, and me. Allison suggested that we all stay close together so creeps would not attack us in East Potomac Park. It was nice to skate like that and we did a lot of talking. We got to Froggy Bottom by 8:30.

I wanted to skate some more so I followed Mike while he skated home up towards the zoo. Then I kept going on Connecticut to Ordway and turned left, then made another left on Wisconsin. I was surprised to find the National Cathedral; did not realize I had gone so far.

Then I took Wisconsin to M street and visited with a few people who put on costumes a day early. Met a fake Jamaican Bobsled team and tried to talk them into bringing their sled to the White House on Saturday. They had authentic-looking Jamaican team skin suits, ordered by internet from China. I also saw a convincing Marilyn Monroe look-alike and the hottest Snow White & Evil Stepmother ever. Talked to Snowy a little but it seemed like English was not her native tounge. I could have used an interpreter. Another couple was having a lot of fun dressed as Cookie Monster & a chocolate chip cookie. I told the lady in the cookie costume that if she had enough moles, she would not have needed the costume. Then she said that she does have a lot of moles and she rolled up her sleeve and showed me. I was disappointed because her arm-moles were barely bigger than freckles. And they did not exactly taste like Nestle Morsels.

Hope to enjoy a good Halloween skate on Saturday, wish the weather forecast was better for that. We should be able to chat up even more heavy-drinking hedonists on Saturday.
