[SkateDC] Marine Corps marathon on Sunday

The Sunday Intermediate Skate will visit the Marathon over on 110 in VA probably in time to see Carl.  The skate will leave the White House at 11 AM (not 9 AM, the new 11 AM time will remain in effect until sometime in the spring).

I've signed up to get split times mobile updates for Jennifer, Carl, Karin, and Lynn.  The website to sign up for that has been a bit squirrelly, I hope it works on Sunday.  Will be on the lookout for all our runners.

We won't be skating the marathon route of course but we'll be nearby most of the skate.

Good luck to all our runners.  I think the marathon must be particularly difficult mentally for skaters:  two hours into your run you have to be thinking that if you were on skates you'd already be at the finish line ;-)

Looks like the weather on Sunday should be nice, hope to see you on the skate.

Cheers,
George

Carl and Jennifer,

I will not be running but will be there.  I live right across the
street from the start/finish area (in the light-colored townhouses
across N. Meade St. from the Iwo Jima monument).  If anyone would like
to crash at my place after the race just let me know.  My cell number
is 703-346-0114.

Good luck in the race!

Jon
