All Cone-kickers
NEW tricks! I just finished (last week) a slalom workshop in Atlanta. Here are some new tricks that I may be able to teach: Bkwds Snake, Basketweave, Swinging Basketweave, Sun, Frwds and Bkwds Nelson, Mega, Mexican, Itallian and front-2-back transitions. I can also teach the basics to anyone who shows up. I will bring a big cooler of water, chalk, cones and measuring tape. Bring your cones and a helmet for safety. Also see Wed night slalom info below.
Sydney - I have your big towel in my car.
Our location is Washington & Lee H.S parking deck (off of 15th & Quincy) in Arlington (near Ballston Mall, MapQuest link below, see note). We will begin with a 15 minute lesson.
**Rain - if it rains lightly or the streets are wet, the practice will still occur. This is because: 1. we do not go very fast anyways; 2. the paved court we practice on is deserted; and 3. because it is wet we will really focus on the basic moves and perfect form. Perfect form is really important.**
*The skate-space is about 1/2 the size of a football field with a painted concrete surface. MapQuest link (1300 N. Quincy Street, Arlington, VA 22201) http://www.mapquest.com/maps?address=1300+N.+Quincy+St&zipcode=22201
Note: From the MapQuest star drive past Rt 66 and turn left onto 15th St North. There is street parking and 2 entrances to the mostly underground parking deck. The skate area is above ground between the parking decks.
*Note: the first Sat of month there is a big flea market in both parking decks, but this does not effect the skate-space which is fenced off and between the parking decks.
Also, for those who can't make it Sat morning, most weeks I go to the Wed night adult skate 800-1030pm at Wheels Skating Center (1200 Odenton Road, Odenton, Maryland 21113), http://www.wheelsrsc.com/. I will commit to a free 15 minute lesson to all show up.
