is Judy, and I'm the president of "Get inline... Chicagoland", an inline =
skating club in the Chicago area (www.getinlinechicagoland.com). I =
recently became an advisory board member for USA Roller Sports (USARS), =
who is rolling out a new recreational program for clubs and skaters like =
us. =20
In the past, USARS has focused on the speed, artistic and hockey skaters. =
Now, they want to build a great recreational program. Their initiative =
involves creating a national network of membership based on skate clubs =
around the country, as well as individual skaters. The advisory committee =
would like to hear from club officers like you and I. What could USARS do =
to attract your club to join? The fee is currently $50 for a club, but =
we, the board want to know what they can offer to make that $50 worthwhile =
for you. Some ideas include the following:
1. liability insurance to cover you, and your officers for group/social =
skates, fun rolls, and other activities (to prevent lawsuits if someone is =
injured)
2. Assistance with your marketing plan, advertising ideas, ways to =
attract new members
3. Assistance with media and procurement of sponsorships
4. USARS skating magazine subscription
5. Access to articles and educational material
6. National level group skates, marathons, etc.
7. Assistance with events, fundraisers, fun rolls, etc.
8. Club listing on their website
9. Access to information such as places to skate, national calendar of =
activities, fitness information, nutrition and diet information, skating =
news, skating instruction, discounts from retailers
Do any of these ideas sound interesting to you? If so, which ones? What =
other things would help you as a club? Please share as much feedback as =
possible, as we want to present USARS with the things that YOU, your =
officers and skaters need/want. Thanks in advance for sharing your input. =
