I have been searching for potential training sites for the fast and up and
coming WAR speedskaters with little success. Last years training on the mall
was convenient but simply had too many cars. In the last few weeks I have
worked out a deal with Skater's Quest where I will help coach their midweek
practice. They have agreed to allow me to bring any War skaters out to these
Thursday night 6:30-8:30 sessions as long as we are not overwhelmed with
numbers. We do drills, intervals, hills, and open road skating. If you are
planning to attend anytime over the next 12 weeks please respond off list so
I have an approximate count. The site, listed below, has a variety of hills,
loops around Robinson H.S. and in the neighborhood behind it on Portsmouth
Road. Hope you can join us for these training nights as we prepare for the
fall races.
