Stuart - bit of a sore subject.

Put some amount of effort into allowing skaters in BikeDC 2000. Everything=

looked go. At the last minute WABA realized allowing skaters could
jeopardize support. Marshall jumped in and with possible WAR insurance
subsidy but It was too much risk for WABA.

One of the problems is that it's not legal to skate on many of the ride
streets. It's one thing to know the police seldom ticket, but getting
someone to insure an illegal activity...
[ One of the reasons for the NCUTLO street-skate code effort ]

Having said all this, I will check.

Bob

Bob,

As the main skate-bike interface representative in the DC area, I was
wondering if you could suggest ways that WAR and MASF might get ourselves
invited to Bike DC this year. 30 miles of car-free roads, 6000+ riders...I=

know the Mayor is very bike-friendly and he was certainly receptive to our
(skaters) participation in the Great American Cleanup earlier this year.
What do you think it would take for us to be involved in this event?

Thanks
Stuart
