Hi Kury,

Our outings for beginners occur weekly on Friday night at 7 pm.  We gather in front of the White House on the closed-to-vehicles portion of Pennsylvania Avenue near Lafayette Park.

>From our calendar at www.skatedc.org:

Friday Night Skate
A beginner level street skate of 8 or 10 miles, which finishes around 9 pm. This social skate keeps a leisurely pace on moderate hills and generally flat terrain through light traffic, but also includes a downhill from the Washington Monument down 15th St. to the Jefferson Memorial. Skaters are welcome to stop for food and drink near the end of the skate at the Froggy Bottom Pub (http://www.froggybottompub.com/location.html). Those not stopping at Froggy Bottom Pub have a straight-shot down Pennsylvania Ave. to return to the White House. The route (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2639471) is always the same. There is always a shorter route option (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2639579) that saves you a couple extra miles of skating by taking the Buckeye Dr. shortcut at Haines Point.

Tomorrow we may possibly have club t-shirts for sale at Froggy.

We maintain a skate list (which it appears that you already receive in digest form) and maintain a calendar of skating events at our website www.skatedc.org.

We also have a Facebook presence, under
Washington Area Roadskaters (WAR) Inline Skating Clubbut I don't update much of anything there.  I guess I'm just not that into facebook.

Anyway, we will have our usual Friday Night Skate tomorrow night (5/15/09).

Come on out and join us!

Cheers,
George Marinkovich

P.S.  There is also a Free Skate Clinic at Rock Creek Park, see the Free Lessons link at our website www.skatedc.org for details.

Skaters,

Sorry for this last minute notice, but I won't be able to lead the skate
tonight.  Between needing to stay with my wife for medical reasons and
the Caps vs Pens game 7 on tonight, skating is ending up on the short
end of the stick.

Bill sent skatedc at skatedc.org a message on Facebook.

I have added new photos! See what you missed by not going to the rink party in
Dundalk yesterday.
