As you have probably heard by now, HBO has withdrawn as a sponsor of the Screen On The Green (SotG) this year, leading to the cancellation of this beloved Washington tradition.

Rescue efforts are underway:

There is yet another SotG substitute, that will be particularly attractive to Elizabeth Taylor fans:

Finally, for those capable of long-term planning, WalkingTown DC Fall Edition will be held 9/19/09 (Saturday) and 9/20/09 (Sunday).  To get an idea of what will be offered take a look at the Spring Edition schedule (http://tinyurl.com/oh7g26), the actual schedule for Fall hasn't been released yet.  The most popular walking (and biking) tours sell out weeks in advance.  A skater was able to join one of the biking tours for the Spring Edition, contact the tour leader if you're interested in doing the same for the Fall Edition.

Enjoy,
George
