Wear your white club t-shirts with the ersatz diplomatic plates tomorrow, if you've got 'em.
The diplomatic industrial park near the UDC campus (International Dr., Pl. and Ct.) which we will be visiting on Saturday seems to be a bit of a sensitive area security-wise. I don't anticipate any problems as we'll only be skating on public streets there, but since we have the shirts and they do tend to lend us an air of respectibility (especially if you don't look at them too closely), I figure it can't hurt....
By the way, the weather looks to be very nice on Saturday.
Cheers,
George

I will be leading a Central Embassy Loop Skate this Saturday (8/1/09) that will skate past the embassies of 44 countries, starting with Guinea and finishing with Switzerland.
The skate leaves the White House at 9 AM on Saturday.
If you happen to have the white club t-shirt from a few years ago, featuring the faux diplomatic license plate, please consider wearing it on Saturday. Not a problem if you don't have one, just come as you are.
The last embassy we pass, Switzerland, will be celebrating Swiss National Day later on Saturday with a party starting at 3 PM (http://tinyurl.com/swiss-national-day-celebration).
It will be a fun, but challenging, intermediate skates of 15.8 miles with a fair number of
hills and will go on some streets in DC we don't typically skate. It
might be more accurate to say that it is an advanced skate route that
will be led at a beginner skate pace ;-) Because of the easygoing pace it will take a little over two hours to complete. An effort has
been made to avoid unnecessary hills, to climb steep hills
only when necessary, and to descend gentle hills when possible.
However, you should be very comfortable with braking and able to
control your speed going down hills.

route cue sheets showing embassy flags in color can be downloaded in
