Free Films at the Freer:
I'll miss Versus due to a previous commitment, but since women are always telling me I know absolutely nothing about women, I feel it just wouldn't be wise to pass up a film called "All About Women," which has been touted as the Beijing "Sex and the City." Might not help of course, but it's hard to see how it could hurt! I'll see it on Friday if it rains, otherwise Sunday afternoon.
And don't forget "On the Waterfront" is the Monday (8/3/09) offering at Screen on the Green:
It wasn't him, Charley, it was you. Remember that night in the Garden
you came down to my dressing room and you said, "Kid, this ain't your
night. We're going for the price on Wilson." You remember that? "This
ain't your night"! My night! I coulda taken Wilson apart! So what
happens? He gets the title shot outdoors on the ballpark and what do I
get? A one-way ticket to Palooka-ville!...You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I
coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face
it. It was you, Charley.

*Assistive listening devices will be available for those having a hard time deciphering Marlon Brando's dialog.
The usual drill: I'll be in orange, the tarps will be in blue and gray, we'll both be front and center in relation to the screen. The movie will start some time after 8:30 pm, I'll be there around 7pm.
Enjoy,
George
