Sounds like a fun skate.  Sorry I missed it.  I had the best intentions of being there but sometimes things come up at the last minute and our plans require necessary adjustment.

Cheers,
George

P.S.
(But only of interest to mice, Robert Burns fans, and those who feel compelled to read every last thing in an email no matter how trivial it will surely turn out to be.  Remember, you've been warned!)

As is often the case, the great Scot expressed it best when he said to a mouse he happend to run into one day:

But Mousie, thou art no thy lane,

In proving foresight may be vain:

The best laid schemes o' mice an' men

Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,

For promis'd joy!

Now luckily the mouse, though he were but a "wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim'rous beastie,"  was nonetheless a proper Scots mousie and therefore understood the poet to say:

But Mouse, you are not alone,

In proving foresight may be vain:

The best laid schemes of mice and men
        Go often askew,

And leaves us nothing but grief and pain,

For promised joy!

>From which sentiments the mouse drew a small measure of comfort, and alas -- as fate would have it -- his final breath.

Which is to say that, while the best laid plans may oft go awry, one can still hope to make it to the skate next time.   Unless you are a mouse.   Then all bets are off.

There's a valuable lesson in there somewhere.

At least about reading to the end of an email, when you've been warned up front it's very likely to turn out to be a less than valuable investment of your time.
