13 skaters met at the White House and took off at 7:15.  We picked
up one late skater who met us in Georgetown at our first stop.  We
skated up to Dupont and over to Union Station.  After a stop in
Capitol Hill that threatened to turn the skate into the 4th of July
Beer Drink, we high-tailed it to the Jefferson just in time to watch
the fireworks across the Tidal Basin.

We were just far enough from the Lincoln memorial this year that we
could not take advantage of Rock Creek Parkway being closed, like we
did last year.  We skated to 23rd and Constitution and saw that
Constitution westbound towards the Kennedy Center was closed, and
people were walking on it.  So we skated up there and received a
talking-to from the cops, as well as safe passage across the I-66
on-ramp to the Kennedy Center.

When we arrived at Froggy Bottom, Hien gave us a frosty reception,
so six of us went to TGI Friday's around the corner for a bit and a
couple of drinks.
