Special Tuesday Inauguration Day (1/20/09) Skate, leaves DUPONT CIRCLE (not the White House!) at 11 am, led by President Ford.  See the inauguration on skates!  Carl promises skating on "some roads that we may never get to skate again."  Some pretty interesting roads will be closed to vehicular traffic including:  3rd St. tunnel, George Washington Memorial Parkway, and for the really adventurous the northbound lanes of I-395 (and who hasn't always wanted to skate on an Interstate, I mean other than the little bit of I-66 we skated in the district by accident once?). Wednesday (1/21/09) Night Advanced Skate, leaves 7 pm from the White House, led by David Churchill.

Sunday (1/25/09) Combined Skate, leaves 11 am from the White House, led by Kent Gunlicks.

In
the event the usual White House meeting point is unavailable, try these
alternate meeting points in order:  Lafayette Park (16th and H Sts.
NW), Visitor Center on the Ellipse, Navy Memorial (at Pennsylvania and 7th Sts. NW).  Note again that the Inauguration Day Skate on Tuesday leaves from Dupont Circle, not the White House.
