When stopped by the nice uniformed man/woman with the gun or car,  
these phrases will come in handy.  Replace the * with "sir" or "ma'am"  
as the situation warrants.

"Yes, *"
"No, *"
"I did not know that, *"
"What can you suggest, *"
"Thank you, *.  Stay warm!"

Repeat these phrases until you can say them instinctively.
