[SkateDC] Inauguration Day Skate- No Bikes

I read that bikes are on the list of forbidden objects at the inauguration, along with umbrellas, backpacks, and several other things. Good thing skating is an "Obscure Sport" - they forgot to put skates on the list!

There is an inner and an outer security zone for the inauguration. I think we may be able to skate within the outer security zone but if we do that we would have to leave the bikes behind. The mall between the WWII memorial and the Lincoln Memorial is inside the outer security zone.

Will update this if I can find more detailed information and maps.

Thanks,

Bill

Subject: [SkateDC] Inauguration Day Skate

Hey all,

I'll be leading a skate on Inauguration Day.  We'll meet at Dupont
Circle at 11 am.  First part of the skate will be to through
closed-off streets  towards the Mall.  We'll watch the swearing-in
from wherever we can, probably by the Lincoln Memorial.  Afterwards,
we'll skate more closed-off streets around the security zone.  If
people feel up to it, we can swing by Hawaii and Illinois Avenues as
well.

I think Tuesday will be a great day to be on skates.  See you there!
