[SkateDC] Friday Night Skate Rain Plan- Divert to the Rocket Bar & Shoot Pool with the DC Rollergirls

We might skate the Friday Night Monument Loop tonight, but there is a chance of rain. Visiting the DC Rollergirls at the Rocket Bar is a good alternative. It is close to the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Train Station.

Our club has been invited to drop in on the DC Rollergirls while they are having a party at the Rocket Bar (across 7th Street from Verizon Center) (www.rocketbardc.com). The timing of this party overlaps with the Friday Monument Loop skate on August 21st, from 7 to 9:20.

I plan to begin skating the monument loop with one of my derby friends, but then break away early to arrive at the Rocket Bar at about 8:20. You can put the party into your plans as you see fit. If we have rain, we might get a large group of road skaters to try the Rocket Bar.

A few months ago I went to a similar Roller Derby party at the Rocket Bar and had a good time. It is a friendly place with great science fiction decorations.

Think you’re tougher than a D.C. Rollergirl? Challenge us to a game of pool or arm wrestling. Shooters $3, served by rollergirls!  All funds raised go to the Travel Team and getting them to Eastern Regionals in Carolina to show them what DC is all about.
