"Singin' in the Rain" will screen on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Strathmore (not 8/8/09 as earlier reported).
Apparently was still in shock from the cancellation of the film and my little finger just couldn't summon the energy necessary to reach all the way up to the "1" key ;-)
I'm much better now, thanks. See: 1111. No problem now, none at all.

To the huddled masses yearning to remain rain-free:
Sorry for the inclement weather which lead to the aqueous interruptus of Rebel Without a Cause. Since hundreds of people were affected, and copies of the movie are sure to disappear from local libraries, video stores, and netflix.com starting first thing tomorrow morning, I feel it's only proper to provide an ending to the saga of Jim Stark for those who haven't seen the film before.
Those anxious to know the ending of the movie can find relief here:

Start reading from the paragraph that starts with "Meanwhile, Buzz's gang attacks Plato to discover Jim's whereabouts," which I'm pretty sure is when the rain came and they canceled the film due to the threat of lightning.
In real life the actors playing the main protagonists suffered rather unkind fates:
"All three lead actors, (James Dean, Sal Mineo and Natalie Wood) died under tragic circumstances. Dean died in a car accident, Mineo was stabbed and Wood drowned. All three died young". -- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048545/trivia
"Singin' in the Rain" at Strathmore on Tuesday, August 8, 2009, should be dry. If the worst happens and it isn't dry, at least we can savor the irony. That will be some comfort, no?
Cheers,
George
