Does anyone really want to skip an excellent scenic Washington DC skate plus lunch at Capitol City Brewing Company so that they can pass an egg around while skating on the boring old BWI trail? Unfortunately, the Easter Egg Shuffle conflicts with the annual WAR Season Inaugural Combined Skate.
All skaters are welcome to participate in the WAR Season Inaugural Event. The route has a minimum of hills and bad pavement, so people who mainly just enjoy the Friday Monument Loop should do great this Sunday. And the cherry blossoms are in full bloom too so bring your cameras. The skate departs from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW at 11:15.
Features of the Inaugural Skate:
A slow, easy pace. 9 miles in about two hours (unless you want to break away from the main group part of the time for some improvised speed skating).
