Hi All,
It's time for the annual dinner with Margaret Bui-Quan, our skating friend from Paris.
It's nice to get together in the winter, come in from out of the cold and see what people look like when they're not wearing helmets, pads, and layers of fleece.
Dinner will be at 7:00pm on Saturday, January 10, 2009.
Everyone is invited, feel free to bring guests. The more the merrier. Forward this announcement to anyone you think might be interested. The restaurant can hold a lot of people! Please let me know if you're coming so I can get a ballpark estimate for our reservation.
In a break with tradition this year's dinner will be at Malibu Grill, a churrascaria in Falls Church:

About Malibu Grill:
"Tailored after the food of the southeast region of Rio de Janeiro, Malibu Grill is a churrascaria, the Portuguese translation for steakhouse. In this region, the cuisine revolves around the churrasco,
delicately marinated and grilled meats ranging from lamb and pork to
beef and chicken. Most restaurants, serve these meats rodizio style -
on skewers in an all-you-can-eat-setting.
In order to recreate this popular Brazilian style of dining,
the restaurant provides a tropical setting adorned with palm trees and
brightly-painted murals. Guests are offered selection of 10 daily
grilled meats served up tableside by Brazilian-style "Gauchos". In
addition to the vast array of meats, guests also enjoy the grill's
extensive salad bar with 16 freshly-prepared cold salads and 11 hot
dishes."

There is ample parking at the restaurant.
The closest Metro Stations (Ballston and East Falls Church on the Orange Line) are 2 to 3 miles away. It is possible to get to the restaurant by a combination of rail and bus (see
http://wmata.com/rider_tools/tripplanner/tripplanner_form_solo.cfm). Or it might be possible to get picked up/dropped off by someone with a car at one of the nearby metro stations. If you need a ride let us know, we'll try to work something out.
Cheers,
George
